To brew with Malt Extract or go all grain? I decided to jump in with both feet and do all grain. I'm now on my tenth batch and I think I understand how my equipment works now. It really is a learning experience every time I brew. You find yourself tweaking this and that to get better efficiencies out of our mash, testing new hop schedules, and on and on.
For my eleventh brew I'm going big, very big, I'm going to try a Scotch Ale. This ale should have a high abv, malty with slight bitterness.. We'll see.

Where are you getting your supplies? We are using a cylinder brew system and we love it!!! We have found a shop in Roanoke the carries some great stuff and has good selection of receipes. My husband does most of the work I just look on and help when needed.
